God Has Greater

When was the last time you asked God to do something impossible, something out of the ordinary? I believe that one reason we don’t see God do great things is because we only ask Him for small things. Most people pray over their food, pray for protection, or pray for wisdom. That’s all good, but don’t limit what God can do. There should be something you’re praying about, something that you’re asking for that is beyond you, something that you can’t accomplish in your own strength. Do you dare to ask?

Your dreams may look impossible. You don’t have the funding or the connections, but God is saying, “I dare you to ask Me to bring it to pass. I dare you to ask Me to show you a flood of My favor.”

All through the scripture, we see people doing this. Elisha prayed that it wouldn’t rain, and for three and a half years there was no rain. Joshua prayed for more daylight, and God stopped the sun. Follow their example and step out in faith. Dare to ask, dare to believe God, and see His mighty hand move on your behalf!

Direct My Steps

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord! Many people today might find it difficult to see themselves as “good” in the eyes of God, but did you know that in the original Greek, this word means “strong” like a warrior? In other words, when you stand strong, when you are willing to fight the good fight of faith, you are giving God something to work with. He is ordering your steps. He’s making a way when there seems to be no way. He’s clearing a path for you, and He is delighting in you. That means He is pleased with your attitude of courage. He is pleased that you are taking a stand for what is right. He is pleased that you are putting Him first place and relying completely on Him.

Remember, God loves your passion for Him. He loves it when you come boldly to His throne of grace. He is honored when you stand and fight the good fight of faith. If you are facing difficulty today, know that God wants to lift you up and give you His strength. Receive it by faith today. Dig your heels in knowing that He is ordering your steps; and when God is leading you, He’s always leading you in the path of victory!

Faith Not Sight

FatihNotSight

Are you walking by faith or sight today? In other words, are you choosing to believe God no matter what your circumstances look like, or are you making decisions and focusing your mind on what you can see.

As believers, we have to remember that we aren’t just subject to this natural realm–what we can see, hear, touch, and smell. No, we have access to the unseen, supernatural realm where all the promises and blessings of God are stored. When you choose to walk by faith, you are opening a door from the natural realm to the supernatural realm and drawing the blessings of God into your life.

Remember: with God seeing isn’t believing; believing is seeing! Throughout the day, begin to declare, “Father, I want to thank You that my payday is coming. You said no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. I believe even right now You’re arranging things in my favor.” As you walk and live by faith, you will live a life pleasing to God. You’ll see His blessing and favor in abundance, and you’ll fulfill the destiny He has in store for you!

Set Yourself Free

SetYouFree

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
John 8:32, NIV

Did you know that wrong labels can keep you from your destiny? You are not who people say you are. You are who God says you are. People will label you not good enough, too slow, too old, too many mistakes. God labels you strong, talented, valuable, more than a conqueror. Make sure that you’re wearing the right labels. Don’t go the next 20 years allowing one negative comment to hold you back.

Many people don’t know any better. They wear the negative labels like they’re the truth. They become so engrained in their thinking that they end up becoming what people say they are instead of what God says they are.

Are there labels that are holding you back today? What a coach said? What a counselor said? Even negative comments spoken by your parents? This is the time to remove every negative label. People don’t determine your destiny; God does. The only power that label has over you is the power that you give it. If you will remove it; if you will forgive that person and quit dwelling on it, then that label will have no effect on you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for Your truth which sets me free. I choose to let go of every negative word spoken over me. I choose to forgive those who have hurt me. I embrace Your Word which is my identity in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Grow Through

Growthroughlife

“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.” (2 Thessalonians 1:3, NIV)

God’s desire is to see you grow and increase in every area of your life—especially in your love for others. That’s because love is the greatest thing, and it is all that matters in eternity. At the end of the day, at the end of our lives here on earth, love is what will last forever!

Notice that this verse tells us that love and faith are connected. It says in another verse that faith works by love. Love isn’t about feelings and emotions; it’s about the choice to treat people the way God tells us to in His Word. The more we know Him, the more we know His Word, the more we will walk in love.

Today, I pray that your love will continue to grow and build a solid foundation for your faith. I pray that through your connection with the Father, you are strengthened in all of your relationships as you move forward into the life of blessing He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for loving me and transforming me into Your image. Search my heart and mind today. Help me to love others the way You love me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wherever You Are!~

whereeveryouare

…an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. ‘Joseph, son of David,’ the angel said, ‘do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.’ (Matthew 1:20, NLT.)

Have you ever felt overwhelmed or even afraid of what God has called you to do? Maybe you were pursuing a dream or goal and things didn’t turn out the way you planned. Joseph had planned to take Mary as his wife, but when he found out she was pregnant, he didn’t know what to think. He was afraid that he might be making a mistake because things didn’t turn out the way he planned. But, God sent a messenger in a dream to reassure Joseph that he was on the right path.

Today let me reassure you that God knows right where you are, and He knows how to get you to where you need to be. Even when things don’t go the way you planned, His hand is on you. Do not be afraid. Trust that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf, and that He will lead you into the life of blessing that He has prepared for you.

Prayer for Today:

Father in heaven, I choose to trust in You. Even when things don’t go the way I planned, I know You are at work in my life. Thank You for Your perfect love which casts out all fear. I love You and surrender every area of my life to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Never Stop Using Me

20120923-084310.jpg

In the stillness of the night I search for Your voice. So lost were my days before I found You. How thirsty I am for Your touch. I don’t know what my life would have been without You. Can’t imagine where I would’ve been, what mess I would be in. Yet You found me…in the depths of my despair Your love conquered my biggest fears. Seconds have passed, minutes wasted away, hours of pain, days lived in fear until You saved me. Somewhere stuck between who I was and who I could be, You gave me the push I needed to dream. The strength I needed to move forward.

My life is nothing without You. Living from day to day, I sought You and found me. I found the person I never thought I could be. I had given myself away to anything that intrigued me, I lost myself time after time. Hurt myself over and over again and then there was You. So powerful, so faithful…in spite of all the things I had done to lose Your trust, You saw fit to be faithful to me. I’m thankful not just because of what You did, I am in awe of who You are. May my lips never cease to give gratitude to Him who has shown me mercy when I have done nothing to deserve it.

I long for a touch from You, anxious for the next opportunity that You will pour into me, revealing Your majesty. From the stars in the midnight sky to the dew on the grass, I see You in everything. I look over my life and realize, in spite of my worst mistakes, You were with me all along. Certainly You know my story from beginning to end but I realize I did not always live in Your perfect will. There have been moments, days, even years that I made mess after mess yet, You came behind them all and made me whole. How can I live in a state of unforgiveness for people when in my heart I know I have required more forgiveness than I have ever given?

Your love has seeped into the darkest corners of my life and given me hope. Each day I look into the eyes of my children and for a moment I have a glimpse of the love You have for me. My heart aches for the inevitable variables of life they will face. God I’m sorry for breaking Your heart, for being selfish, taking Your love for granted.

As I face the storms of life and complain about the unyielding pain remind me of the pain Christ endured so that I could live. The blood shed on Calvary so that I would have a chance to find myself, even if that meant straying from You. Your grace is the sweetest song I have ever heard. Your grace has sung me through the calamities of life. An ocean breeze in the Sahara, it makes no sense how Your grace found me. Broken, unworthy, ungrateful, stubborn, and tired Your grace still found me.

Some called me wretched, others said I would never amount to anything; still You never lost Your confidence in me. Your mercy is the most beautiful poetry ever heard, it has no rhyme or reason, yet it reaches the heart of my soul. When I couldn’t forgive myself, Your mercy saw me through. When I thought I’d never recover, Your mercy nursed me back to where I belonged. When I gave up on myself, Your mercy pushed me along. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for Your mercy.

I know that we haven’t always been the best model of Your love. We fight with one another over the smallest things but I know that because of who You are, You see the heart of all men. You know that many of us are showing love the best we know how. God, help heal the hearts of men so that You can be seen clearly. Help us to never lose focus of Your love yet to live in fear of Your wrath because at the end of the day we should never feel we’re bigger than the God we serve.

Help me Lord to not just be a recipient of Your love but a gateway to Your heart. May the words that come from my mouth be pleasing to Your ears. May they be a lullaby to the fearful, a testament to those seeking something greater, and a reminder to myself that I’d rather be in awe of You, than awful without You. I have used my mouth as a weapon, leaving wounds that no doctor can cure. Help me to understand that the gift You have given me can be used to build or destroy. Lord, let my mouth be my most powerful tool, building up precious people, changing lives, invoking change, and inspiring dreams.

God touch my eyes, clear my vision, so that I can see beyond the way You see me, I want to see people the way You see them. Help me to lose the judgment and fear I posses from past experiences. I have been judged too many times to pass out judgment. Allow me understanding, so that I can see that everyone is not like me, they do not live the way I live, or dream the way I dream. If You wanted us all to be alike You would not have taken the time to give such intricacy to our DNA, such detailed lines in on our fingertips, each lined kissed by your marvelousness and whispering to us what we must never forget: YOU CARE ABOUT US.

Words will never fully express the magnitude of admiration, the immensity of my praise, or the enormity of my worship. All I can say is thank You, I love You… Please God, never stop using me.
