The Votes Are in

Job well done!!!!!!!! After a long and hard fought battle I would like to say Congrats to our President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. The presidential election was held on yesterday, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 and the people spoke. I am so proud that people realize and understand that there is power in numbers and power in voting.

Barack Obama was running against the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney. Up until the very day, polls showed that it was a very close race. Even as of late yesterday evening it appeared as if Romney was ahead and had a strong chance of taking the office of President. At the end Obama prevailed and swept the race with 303 of the electoral votes being re-elected while Romney took 206 of the electoral votes.

This race should be a lesson for all of us. Many times we count people out or begin to doubt the outcome of things because of how it may appear in the natural. We never know what God is up to. As the old folks would say, “He may not come when you want Him, but He’ll be there right on time”. That statement could not be any more true then it is as it pertains to this race.

No matter what your political affiliation is or who you voted for, the most important thing is that you exercised your right and participated. I am shocked and amazed of the outcome of how each election continues to grow. It is a sign that people of becoming more aware and realize that they can do their part in making this country a better place.

Barack Obama’s story is the American story. With values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as the means of getting ahead, and the conviction that a life so blessed should be lived in service to others. I am so glad that this man was able to overcome obstacles and the odds that were against him and triumph as the winner of this Presidential Election.

Continue to pray for him as well as other leaders that are in power as they seek to lead in the right direction.
