God Has Greater

When was the last time you asked God to do something impossible, something out of the ordinary? I believe that one reason we don’t see God do great things is because we only ask Him for small things. Most people pray over their food, pray for protection, or pray for wisdom. That’s all good, but don’t limit what God can do. There should be something you’re praying about, something that you’re asking for that is beyond you, something that you can’t accomplish in your own strength. Do you dare to ask?

Your dreams may look impossible. You don’t have the funding or the connections, but God is saying, “I dare you to ask Me to bring it to pass. I dare you to ask Me to show you a flood of My favor.”

All through the scripture, we see people doing this. Elisha prayed that it wouldn’t rain, and for three and a half years there was no rain. Joshua prayed for more daylight, and God stopped the sun. Follow their example and step out in faith. Dare to ask, dare to believe God, and see His mighty hand move on your behalf!

Direct My Steps

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord! Many people today might find it difficult to see themselves as “good” in the eyes of God, but did you know that in the original Greek, this word means “strong” like a warrior? In other words, when you stand strong, when you are willing to fight the good fight of faith, you are giving God something to work with. He is ordering your steps. He’s making a way when there seems to be no way. He’s clearing a path for you, and He is delighting in you. That means He is pleased with your attitude of courage. He is pleased that you are taking a stand for what is right. He is pleased that you are putting Him first place and relying completely on Him.

Remember, God loves your passion for Him. He loves it when you come boldly to His throne of grace. He is honored when you stand and fight the good fight of faith. If you are facing difficulty today, know that God wants to lift you up and give you His strength. Receive it by faith today. Dig your heels in knowing that He is ordering your steps; and when God is leading you, He’s always leading you in the path of victory!

Speak To Your Mountains

tumblr_mh5ey4j0WO1qhmhdfo1_500

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done.” (Matthew 21:21, AMP)

We’ve all had seasons when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. During those times, it’s easy to be tempted to talk about how bad things are. Maybe you received a bad medical report, or maybe you’re facing a financial obstacle. The more you talk about something, the bigger it becomes in your mind. Instead, you’ve got to dig your heels in and say, “No, I am not going to give life to that defeat. I am not going to speak sickness over myself. I’m not going to speak lack. I’m not going to speak fear. I’m choosing a different report. I believe the report of the Lord which says, ‘I can do all things through Christ. I can defeat this sickness. I can break this addiction. I can have peace in my home. I can see restoration in my relationships.’ ”

Remember, even if you don’t see how things could ever work out, God does. You’ve got to speak His Word over those mountains in your life and declare favor over those situations. Instead of talking to God about how big your problems are, talk to your problems about how big your God is! As you speak to your mountains, they will be moved, and you will walk forward into the victory God has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I declare that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I speak to the mountains in my life and say, “Be moved!” I declare blessings, favor and victory over my future in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Its In Your Favor

tumblr_mgtkazxKZj1qhmhdfo1_500

God has a plan to take every adversity, every hardship you go through and use it–not to beat you down and make your life miserable. No, God’s dream is to take that difficulty and supernaturally turn it around and use it to bring you good. He will use those tough times to bring you out stronger, more mature, and prepared for promotion! Goodness, mercy, and unfailing love are God’s plan for you!

You may not understand everything that’s going on in your life right now, but I encourage you to keep your head held high. Know that God is working in your life. Keep being faithful. Keep doing the right thing knowing that in the end God is going to turn things around in your favor. If God is for you, who can be against you? No one. Greater is the One who is in you than anyone who can be against you. No matter what’s going on around you today, you can put your shoulders back and put a smile on your face because God has good things in store for your future!

Light Of God

tumblr_mewzghYDy31qhmhdfo1_500

When darkness overtakes the godly, light will come bursting in. (Psalm 112:4, NLT)

Everyone goes through seasons of difficulty or times when things just seem dark. During these challenging times, know that you are not alone. God has a plan to drive out the darkness—He will flood you with His light! Notice that in today’s verse it doesn’t say, “The light will come trickling in.” No, it says that the light will come bursting in! That means suddenly, you will see God’s goodness. Suddenly, you’ll be promoted. Suddenly, the answer will come!

If you’ve been going through a difficult time, get ready for the goodness of God in a new way. Know that His light is about to come bursting in! Get ready for breakthroughs. Get ready for promotion. Get ready for restoration. You may have had that problem for a long, long time, but today could be the day that it turns around. Suddenly, things can change! God wants His glory to be seen on you. He wants you to stand out in the crowd. He wants you to be so blessed that everyone around you can see His goodness on you! So keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping and keep declaring His Word because His light is going to come bursting in!

A Personal Story

A Personal Story

I guess one could say that life is rarely an easy journey.

In life, we experience all kinds of pain, from thousands of different sources. A paper cut, a lost love, rejection, isolation, cruel words and actions, you name it.

Perhaps there is a memory of a particularly embarrassing speech you gave in seventh grade, or, a broken heart that just won’t heal. A memory that makes you cringe every time you look back at it.

Perhaps you had wished that this memory had never happened, had never occured. It would only be normal to wish your woes away.

However, have you ever thought of how you felt after you had healed those wounds? After the salt had stopped seeping into the cut? Perhaps you felt like you learned something, perhaps you didn’t, maybe, even now, you remain bitter, lost in the throes of the past.

But, even if those memories are so painful, they are so incredibly precious because each one of them is an experience. An experience that might have hurt you so badly at the time, but most likely provided a lesson of sorts.

It doesn’t have to be deep, the memory could have been something as simple as running on ice and then falling down and scraping your knees. Chances were, after doing it once (or a few times over), you figured you’d better not run on ice. Now, take that example and apply it to your life, replacing the ice with perhaps a backstabbing friend and the running with trust. The lesson then would be not to trust someone who has already betrayed you.

Now, you don’t have to agree with everything I’m saying. I’m just trying to get one point across here, that when something hurts you, it usually makes you stronger. You learn from the past and apply it to the future. You learn, mature, and change.

So, the next time you are looking back and cringing at a painful memory, remember that the experience has helped to shape who you are and that without that experience, you would not be who you are right now. Cry if you have to. But, stop being embarrassed about something that happened three years ago, stop worrying about what those people said in the fifth grade, stop caring what they thought of you in junior high.

Stop hurting yourself with the past.

Because, your path in life has shaped who you are now. And if you want to love yourself, and you want to be happy, you have got to let go of the past. And be yourself, be you.

Keep all those painful memories in stride, but don’t let them get to you. Cry if you have to, cry.

Do what you want to. Live how you want to. Love who you want to. And don’t give second thought to what anyone else says. Because, everyone is unique, everyone has something different to offer.

And now, as my thoughts cease to come to me with such ease, I sit and remember all the good times, and all of the bad times. And I smile. I would like it if everyone could be so at peace with themselves and smile, instead of crying or aching at the memories.

So please, smile.

Keep Dreaming

tumblr_mewyd5nmmL1qhmhdfo1_500

“So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit” (Galatians 6:9, The Message).

Everyone has God-given dreams and desires. We all have goals we want to accomplish and situations we are believing will be turned around. Sometimes it seems to take longer than we originally thought. Sometimes, things don’t work out the way we planned, and it’s easy to lose enthusiasm. If we’re not careful, we’ll get discouraged and end up just settling where we are. But God doesn’t want us to settle, He wants to take us higher. But many times, people miss out on God’s best simply because they give up too soon. They don’t realize how close they are to their victory.

Friend, don’t let that be you today. Don’t give up just because things seem hard. You’ve invested so much, and you never know, just a few more days of believing, another few weeks of doing the right thing, another few months of staying in faith, and you could see that situation turn around. Remember, God is on your side! Keep standing and keep believing because you are closer than you think to fulfilling every desire He’s placed inside of you!

I Am

tumblr_mepsnrWhJd1qhmhdfo1_500

Jesus wants you to know:

You are my beloved. (Eph. 5:1)

I knew you before you were born. As my hands formed you, I whispered purpose into your bones. I can’t not love you. (Ps. 139:1-6)

I love you beyond human reason—even at your very worst, steeped in sin. (Rom. 5:8)

My love is contrary to all you know of “love.” I Love you “even though” and “deeper still.” My love reaches, pursues, remains. (Ps. 36:5)

My Love for you won’t walk out, fail, or ever come to an end. (Deut. 31:8)

No matter what you’ve heard or what you’ve come to believe, there’s nothing that can separate you from my Love. (Rom. 8:38-39)

I am not like people. So please—don’t put human words in my mouth or apply human behaviors to my character. You will miss me altogether. (Isaiah 55:8)

I’ve never ignored you. I’ve been here all along. Protecting. Loving. Waiting. (Ps. 56:8)

Your love of _____ (sin) isn’t worth eternity. I will break your chains. I will give you the desires of your heart. (Jn. 8:32, Ps. 37:4)

Please forgive some of my followers. People—even Christian people—will fail you. You live in a fallen land, where no one is perfect and all need My grace. Put your faith and trust in Me alone. (Psalm 146:3)

There’s no sin I will not forgive. You are the “whosoever believes in me” whom I will give eternal life … if you believe. (John 3:16)

As resourceful and brilliant as you are, you cannot save yourself. It’s by God’s grace and faith in Me alone that you are saved. (Eph 2:8-9)

I understand your pain and heartbreak. And my heart breaks with you. (Is. 53:3)

There’s nowhere you can go where my Love won’t find you. (Psalm 139:7-8)

The shame and guilt weighs you down has been taken care of on the cross. Your bill has been zeroed out. (John 3:16)

The addictions. The pride. The selfishness. The hate. The lust. The jealousy. The critical spirit. The greed. I can heal it. All of it. You can start fresh. Today. (Rom. 8:1-4)

I will forgive you. But only if you ask. And I care more about the “ask” than I do about the sin. (Acts 3:19)

I will not force you to do or be anything. I want a relationship with you more than I want to rule over you. (Jeremiah 31:3)

I will forgive your sin and I will forget it. That’s right—completely erase it from my mind. No replays, no record. Gone. (Ps. 103:12)

It’s never too late to turn your life around. I came to give second chances. (Luke 23:42-43)

I love you. Let’s talk. (Jer. 29:13)

God’s Timing

tumblr_men18vX7f01qhmhdfo1_500

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarries, wait for it” (Habakkuk 2:3, KJV).

As many of you know I am a author in my own right. I have published 4 book so far. And as sit this morning pondering should I be further along then where I was brought to the above familiar scripture; Habakkuk 2:3. God has an appointed time to fulfill the visions, dreams, and desires in your heart. Just because it has taken a long time or because you’ve tried and failed doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Don’t give up on those dreams! Don’t be complacent about pursuing what God has placed in your heart. Our God is a faithful God. No matter how long it’s been, no matter how impossible things look, if you’ll stay in faith, your set time is coming.

Remember, every dream that’s in your heart, every promise that has taken root, God put it there. Not only that, but He has every intention of bringing it to pass. Hold on to that vision today. Declare by faith, “My time is coming. God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. I will fulfill my destiny!” As you continue to hold on to that vision and speak life over your dreams, it won’t be long before you see them begin to take shape. You’ll see your faith grow, you’ll see your hope strengthen, and you’ll see yourself step into the destiny God has prepared for you!
